So now that life has calmed down a little, I can share Mace's story. My due date was February 13, but I knew that I would not make it. Little did I know how anxious he was to get here. On January 4th, I went into the doctor's office because I was having labor signs, so to be on the safe side I went in. Of course my doctor was out so I had to see a different doctor and needless to say she is why we call some doctors "quacks". She put me on bed rest and you can imagine how successful that was with a 15th month old. So I did my best to take it easy enough so Mace would have some extra cooking time. A week later on January 11th I woke up feeling horrible, but I had an appointment to get my haircut which I wasn't going to miss because who knew how long it would be before I would get it cut after Mason came. So after I got my haircut, I picked Eeva up from Grandma's and went straight home for a nap. Eeva woke up at 2pm and as I stood up from the bed I started gushing blood. We'll I hurried up to get Eeva and called my mother-in-law to see if she could watch Eeva while I went into the doctors. Well, of course she had gone to an activity that afternoon and had her phone off. So I gathered Eeva up and went to the doctors. When I finally got there I realized that my contractions were fairly regular, up to this point I hadn't paid much attention to them because I had had Braxton Hick so regularly for the past two months. So I started timing them and they were two minutes apart. That didn't seem to worry anyone because I sat in the waiting room for an hour. At least that gave me time to get a hold of my mother-in-law to come and pick up Eeva. When the doctor walked in the room I was in the middle of a contraction with tears running down my face and he put his hand on my tummy and let me know I was in labor. Great!@!! Well, since that would make Mace five weeks early he sent my over to the hospital to put me on magnesium to stop my labor. Well, I was in my hospital room for approx 30sec when my water broke. So that meant no going back. My water broke at 4pm and Mace was here 3 hours and 2 pushes later. He came out perfectly healthy, but of course a little small. He was in the NICU for 4 days and I was getting ready to bring him home when he had a Brady ( which means his breathing slows so much that his heart rate drops) So hospital policy is that after a Brady they start a seven day count down. Well, four days into the count down he had another one and we started another seven day count down. So after 18 days of the worst roller coaster of my life I brought Mason home from the hospital and he daddy got home 12 hours later. So January was the best and worst month, but I am grateful to have my healthy baby boy home and growing like a weed. Life is good, and thanks especially to my mom because I don't think we would have made it through without her.
