Mommy has a Mummy

I was instructed by my mom that this event had to be documented even though I'm still a little scarred by it. I had decided that Trick or Treat Street was the perfect Halloween event for Eeva since she is only one and not quite understanding Halloween. So with most things I didn't think about her costume until the night before, and since I would be at work all day the next day and wasn't going to dish out $30-$50 for a costume that would be worn for 2 hours I needed to come up with something using what I had at home. White Sheet-check. Okay, a mummy it is. So my mom and I went to work gluing sheet strips to a onesie and a pair of pants. So one movie later we had a mummy costume. Advice: Make your costume twice the size of your child. Of course, I wait until I'm at work and ready to leave to put Eeva in her costume. So as we start with the onesie, I get a sinking in my stomach. IT'S NOT GOING TO FIT!!! Well, I was not about to give up. So for a half and hour of Eeva screaming and me crying about putting my poor child through this for a stupid costume, we got it on. Note: I had to cut all the way up the side into the armpit and sleeve to get it on, but in the end we had a mummy. So, now we could get some good pictures for Daddy who was the main reason I kept torching my child to get it on. In the end, she seems warm and comfortable and enjoyed her first trick or treating. Lesson Learned

It's been a year!! Give a few weeks.

Eeva Update:

11 Months: She finally decided that walking was more effecient. Crawling is a thing of the past.
11-1/2: We got one more boy cousin.
12 months: Learned to crawl down the stairs.
(She's been crawling up for 3 months, so I'm glad we finally have down figured out.)
Words: Mom, Dad, Bear, Baby, Hi, All Done
Teeth: 6 front teeth and 3 molars
Learning: to pick up her messes, not to hit, to use utensils

Eeva hard at work, at work. When we get to work she goes straight to her duties for the day.

Early morning with Daddy.

Um..All she did was poke at her cake, and daintly took little bits. I'd say Eeva Diva!!

And then we were four...

Well, it's probably time to post this on my blog. Eeva is going to be a big sister. We are welcoming a new baby boy into our family in early February. Yep, I'm six months pregnant and finally getting around to posting it. I'm certianly not going to get mother of the year this year. We are excited for this fun little suprise and a suprise he was. Note to self: It's only 99% effective; I guess that little 1% counts. Vernon is excited to get his namesake, and I'm excited to have a little Vernon.

Ode to my Sweetheart!

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!!

To the boy who stole my heart. He sacrifices more for his family than is even fair, but never complains and is also planning the next sacrifice to make life better for me and Eeva. He is a quite gaint who inspires me to be a better person. No one can make Eeva smile bigger or giggle harded. He is my perfect match. I love his faults and perfections, and I can't wait to spend my life building our lives together, and eternity enjoying it. Love you babe!

It's almost been a year! AAAUUGGHH!!!

Another quick update:

  • 8 months-Not a lot happend, Eeva just kept practicing her new found crawling skills.
  • 9 1/2 months -Eeva walked. First time she walked she walked across the room and then didn't have much use for it for a couple of weeks, but now she is really working on this mode of transportation even though crawling is still a lot more efficient for her.
  • 10 months -First bee sting, and luckily not allergic.
  • 10 1/2 months- Eeva cut her first molar. I was paying attention to her front tooth that she was in the process of cutting and totally missed the two molars trying to come in the back until the day it came in.

Catch Up

So I have a lot of catching up to do, but rather than write a ton I added a ton of pictures. The past six months. Eeva got a new cousin vc McKoy, and we went to visit grandma in Indiana. We have been tearing up our house and finishing up our basement. (I swear I am not going to want to dust again for the rest of my life.)

Eeva:
Sitting Alone 3-1/2 months
Pull Herself Up 4 Months
First Two Bottom Teeth 7 Months
Crawling 7 Months (Mother's Day)
She pets your face to say hello, looks like the hulk when she gets mad, and gives the best kisses in the whole world.
