I finally brought my camera!

After all of the games that we gone to I finally brought my camera for proof. Our finally game was a Star's game. I love hockey and would take it over the Mavericks any day.

My company tickets have a complimentary buffet before the game. Seriously, it has been some of the funnest food I've ate.

Isn't he cute?

Happy Thanksgiving All!!

Wow, has it been a crazy two weeks. A few months ago my boss asked if I would come out with his family to California for Thanksgiving. Well, Vernon was working until Thanksgiving day so why not, I thought. I agreed to it as long as he flew Vernon out after his shift for the last few days we were supposed to be there. So, I frantically tried to finish my classes before we left, and I did. (98% in one class and 97% in the other, yes I'm bragging) We left on Nov 21 on their private jet for California. We spent most of time going between his two homes, and private golf and tennis lessons for his grandsons. I spent most of my time in a golf cart driving them around the country club. I've never had such a relaxing work trip in my whole life. There are a bunch of other crazy things that I got to witness first hand, but I won't bore you. Needless to say, my arm is bruise from pinching myself so much to stay in reality. I left for Riverside on Thursday to spend the weekend with Vernon's family. Vernon finally flew in Friday afternoon after a frustrating day of missing flights. I shopped my first Black Friday. Yikes!! We got to meet Byron's girlfriend, what a cutie. After a great weekend with the Richmonds we drove back up to Palm Spring to fly home on the jet. My boss had a little negotiation with Vernon to try to get us to stay in Texas, but it didn't work. And for those of you who don't know, we are moving to Utah the day after Christmas!!! Yahoo!!!

For anyone who has a couple million to spare, private jets are definitely the ultimate in travel.

Tagged Twice

Okay, so I have been tagged for this one two times. I was trying to avoid letting my weirdness get out, but what would be the fun in that. Right? I'm only going to do five, because seven is just too revealing.

1. I love to clean, but lately you would never know that. I have a rule that if we ever go on a trip or vacation, everything and I mean everything has to be in it's place and clean. I just think it makes coming home a lot easier.
2. I plan on going to school for the rest of my life. I'm not joking. There are too many cool things to learn, so I'll always be taking a class whenever I can.
3. This is only true of late, but I hate chick flicks. I'm not sure why, but one day I woke up and had no desire to watch them any more. I'm sure that constantly hearing Vernon say how stupid they are worked it's way into my subconscience.
4. I love to budget. Just ask Vernon. I have every scenario work out in mind. If money goes here and if money goes there... I have the next five years mapped out on a spreadsheet.
5. This weird tradition that I've had forever. If I see a digital clock at 11:11, it means I'm going to have a lucky day, but if I look at it again while it is still 11:11, then I'm going to have bad luck day. I'm sure I came up with this as a kid and for some reason it stuck, and even though it is silly.

I tag Mom, Bran, Britt, Rox, Ali. Have fun.

My "Work" Trip

So I had to go on a work trip last week, and my boss loves Vernon so much that he let him tag along. We had to transport one SVU up to his home in Vail.....(Notice how packed the car was)

Vail could not have been more beautiful this time of the year. I also took the best shower of my life while I was there. Last time we stayed at the house I missed this bathroom and the awesome shower in it. (It is one of those house that you pick which area of the house to stay and stay put because you get exhausted walking around it.)

Then we drove another SUV down to his condo in Las Vegas....
This was a little place that we stopped along I-70. Highly recommended drive, especially this time of the year.

Once we got to Vegas it was family time. Everyone stopped by Brandy's for the weekend to be there for Braxton's baptism. Since we don't get to be together very often, we threw Brit a baby shower while we had the chance.

We are all so proud of Braxton and his decision to be baptized. We had so much fun playing with the boys and jumping on the tramp. Until next time.....

Now we are home again, home again, and Vernon is off to work. Time goes by too fast.

THE EAGLES!!

I almost forgot! We went to the Eagles concert this weekend, but I forgot my camera to take a picture. They didn't allow camera's inside anyway. THEY ARE AWESOME. They still sound exactly like they did thirty years ago. It was fun watching sixty year olds rock out.

Yikes! Ike!

Vernon got a call from his opposite on Sunday to let him know that one of his platforms was gone, stilts and all. Now, this wasn't just a little toadstool it was one of the largest platforms in the gulf. The helipad alone sits 100 ft off the water. The last wave recorded before it's little box recorder went out was 40 ft. Can you imagine such a huge wave right in the middle of the ocean? Thank goodness they evacuate!! So, they want Vernon to make a list of everything he had on the platform so he can be reimbursed. A laptop, an Playstation(Blu-Ray of course), our retirement savings, and a priceless family heirloom. J/K Luckily, he only had some flight uniforms which are easily replaceable. The hurricane pushed some beautfiul weather up our way. Now, it just needs to share it with the poor people down south, so they can get back to their homes those who are luck enough to have one left. Our prayer go out to those who have lost so much, I can't imagine having to start all over again.

My Labor Day Suprise!!

So I was feeling pretty blue this weekend because Vernon had already been gone for two weeks, and I still had another week to go until he came home. Then to boot, after he had evacuated everyone for the hurricane the company stuck him in a hotel in New Iberia that was part of the mandatory evacuation zone. So, I was getting ready for a holiday filled with homework, and worrying about my husband. Well, Vernon calls me Sunday night to tell me that someone from the ward was dropping some information off for him and to answer the door. (I normally don't answer my door when Vernon is gone) So, about ten minutes later there is a knock on my door and guess who it was? MY HUBBY!!! I can usually tell when he has got something up his sleeve, but I was so suprised, and estatic. Just ask Vernon, I jumped up and down for about a half an hour. Needless to say we had a great Labor Day, and I didn't get any homework done.

Vernon's Birthday

So this weekend we started our two week celebration of Vernon's B-Day; he will be at work on his Birthday. Since, he recently went on one of his throw away everything in the house binges, he needed some new clothes. In the last picture he is wearing one of his cute new shirts, while he works really hard on his sacrament meeting talk for Sunday.

New Calling

Warning:
Fulfilling your callings can have very dangerous consequences. After a short two weeks of freedom after Girls Camp, I was called to be the Young Women's President. So, you're thinking, oh she is in TX and there aren't very many members for the callings. Okay, that does not apply to my ward at all, they are awesome. So, I'm not sure what happened there, but I am so excited to be able to work with the youth, I was sad after Girls Camp because I would not have a reason to hang out with them. Not Now!!

Sunday, July 20, 2008

So, for those of you who didn't know I was called to be the Camp Director for our ward. I was called about four months before Girls Camp, so it was a little stressful. Everything came together though and we had a great time. Look at the cute design Brandy made for our shirts, they were the Stake favorite.

Since Vernon has been working in Louisiana the past year we finally decided we should do a little research on living there. So, for our Fourth of July vacation this year we went to Louisiana. Because this is a G-Rated blog I will simply state that there is no way that we will be moving there, but we took this cute picture while we were there.

So finally it was our turn for mom to come a visit. Zach got mom for a day and then I got her the next day. We spent the day at the Dallas Arberetum and had luch in a little cafe that served little finger sandwhiches and the best tortilla soup. It was a great day.
